3. Providing documents and information with your claim
We will need to see proof of some of the things you write about in your form and we may need to ask you for additional information. We will contact you regarding the evidence needed to process your claim. Please do not send valuable items such as bank books or passports in the post.
We cannot pay benefits until we have seen the proof we need.
If you do not have all the evidence you need, submit the form anyway as Housing Benefit/Council Tax Support is normally granted from the Monday following the date you submit the for - you will then have 14 days to provide the evidence.
