13. Nurseries
As part of its response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) the Government has announced a business rates Nursery Discount.
This relief will apply to properties occupied by nursery providers on Ofsted’s Early Years Register and wholly or mainly used for the provision of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Properties that are closed temporarily due to Government advice on COVID-19 will be treated as occupied for the purpose of this relief.
There is no rateable value limit set and the relief provided will be 100% for the year 2020/21 only.
Ofsted are ensuring that Local Authorities can access the Early Years Register to help identify eligible properties.
