7. How long do we keep hold of your information and is it secure?
We will only retain your personal information for as long as we are required to do so by law and the purpose we collected it for. The retention period is either dictated by law or by our discretion. Once your data is no longer needed it will be securely and confidentially destroyed. Your personal data will be held for indefinitely with the exception of Neighbourhood Planning Documents which will be destroyed once the plan is adopted.
The contacts on the land database will be retained as long as is necessary to carry out the functions for which it was originally collected and updated as part of a formal review or when land use submissions are made. Representations linked to plan-making will be retained for no more than seven years after the plan is adopted or formally abandoned.
We will retain your details throughout the process of consulting on Neighbourhood Plans. Once a Neighbourhood Plan has been made and any period of statutory challenge has passed we will destroy the data within a period of two months.
We have implemented appropriate technological and operational security in order to safeguard your data from loss or misuse.
