Councillors briefed on Net Zero technical report
We have declared a Climate Change Emergency and as part of our commitment as an authority aiming to become carbon neutral, Councillors have received a briefing from a local expert.
A presentation was given by Tony Norton of the University of Exeter’s Centre for Energy and the Environment to Councillors at a briefing on Tuesday 24 September. The slide presentation was a summary of a 600-page Net Zero technical report published by the Climate Change Committee in May 2019. The briefing highlighted the UK’s main sectors and the level of action required to meet national targets. It also covered some suggested actions that individuals and councils could take to reduce their climate change impact.
