Shared ownership
Shared ownership schemes are a cross between buying and renting and aimed mainly at first-time buyers. You own a share of your home and then rent the part you don't own at a reduced rate.
The government has created the Help to Buy schemes, including Help to Buy: Shared Ownership and Help to Buy: Equity Loan to help hard-working people to buy their own home.
Help to Buy offer can offer impartial advice on all the schemes available.
