What is Houghton Barton - NA1?

Houghton Barton is the name for the NA1 allocation in the Teignbridge Local Plan 2013-2033

The allocation covers an area of 160 hectares and aims to deliver at least 1800 homes, employment, social and community infrastructure with strong biodiversity and green infrastructure networks integrated into the development. A further key component is a vehicular route linking together the A382 and the A383.

Parts of the NA1 allocation have already received planning permission including the link road, 650 homes at Hele Park, a 20 unit self build scheme at Howton Field and 32 dwellings at Western House.

In order to direct the applications an NA1 Houghton Barton Development Framework Plan was produced. This supplements the Local Plan Policy and sets out more details of what is expected of the development and how it may look and feel.
