Green bin - subscribed garden waste collection

If you have a subscription, your garden waste will be collected every two weeks.
What you can put in your garden waste bin:
- bark
- grass cuttings
- cut flowers
- weeds (excluding noxious weeds)
- leaves
- hedge clippings
- house plants (please remove soil)
- twigs and small branches up to 10cm thick
- shrub pruning's
- real Christmas trees (contained in bin)
- windfall fruit (spread over a few collections due to weight)
Please do not put these items in your garden waste bin:
- food waste
- animal waste and pet litter including straw and hay
- soil, compost or turf
- bricks, stones or rubble
- treated wood
- plant pots
- fake grass
- wire netting/fencing
- garden furniture
- garden toys
- crockery
- ash
- paper
- cardboard
- large items of garden waste (eg. large branches/logs, plant trays, seed pots, bags)
- packaging, polystyrene or plastic
- disposable nappies
- pet bedding
- compostable packaging
How garden waste is recycled:
Garden waste is composted at a site in Devon. It is shredded and laid out in long piles to decompose in the open air.
