Flat glass
Take flat glass to your local recycling centre.
We cannot accept this in your green recycling box due to the type of glass and for health and safety reasons.
Flowers
Put cut flowers in your food waste container or your green bin if your are subscribed to the garden waste collection service.
Alternatively, they can be composted at home.
Fluorescent tubes
Fluorescent tubes are the strip lights normally found in kitchens. They are classed as hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly as they contain mercury. You can take any old tubes to your local recycling centre for disposal.
Foil
Kitchen foil, foil trays, foil lids, foil sweet wrappers and any other foil can be recycled in your black recycling box.
Food waste
Use your food waste container.
Fridges and freezers
Take to your local recycling centre, or donate them to charity if still work.
Alternatively, arrange a collection using our chargeable large item collection service.
Furniture
Use our large item collection service, take to your local recycling centre, or give to a local charity.
