Mixed textiles and clothes

You can recycle clothing every week with your recycling.
Put the following textiles in a carrier bag for collection:
- clothes - clean and wearable
- underwear
- nightwear
- shoes, trainers and boots (paired)
- bags (excluding plastic bags)
- bed linen
- towels
- bath mats
- curtains
- accessories (purses, wallets, belts, hats, scarfs, ties, jewellery)
Textiles are collected for reuse
Please do not put these items out for collection:
- duvets
- pillows
- wet or dirty items
- anything with stuffing - put in your black bin or take to a recycling centre
- fabric scraps - put in your black bin or donate to a scrapstore
- rags - reuse for cleaning or put in your black bin
Preparing your textiles for collection:
- place in a small carrier bag for collection.
We cannot collect textiles in black bags or charity shop donation bags due to the space available on our collection vehicles.
What happens to the textiles we collect:
Textiles are collected by the Salvation Army to reuse in the UK and abroad.
