BMX and skate parks

Buckland skatepark, Newton Abbot

Buckland skatepark was officially opened on 19 March 2017. The new £120,000 multi-wheeled sports facility has seen local multi-wheeled users encouraged to play their part in the design process, with final designs formally agreed by Maverick Industries.

Funding has been provided by Viridor Credits Environmental Company, Newton Abbot Rotary Club, Dartmoor Vale Rotary Club, Teign Housing, Newton Abbot Town Council, Kitsons, Firewatch Group, Local Councillors Community Funds, Devon County Council's Locality Budgets, Teignbridge District Council and Newton Abbot Town Council.

Decoy BMX skatepark, Newton Abbot

The Decoy Misfits BMX Dirt Club is run by volunteers and will endeavour to ensure the Concrete Bowl is opened daily from 10am to dusk approximately. During the summer months these gates will be locked at 9pm.

  • if this facility is locked, this is due to health and safety reasons
  • the Concrete Bowl must not be used when the surfaces are wet or slippery
  • helmets must be worn at all time

Teignmouth skatepark

Due to the popularity of this skatepark among different ages and abilities, at times there may be an increased risk of use.

On a trial basis - during busy periods (school holidays and weekends), please use the park in accordance with the following usage times:

until 10am - any user

10am to 12pm - scooter users only

12pm to 2pm - no scooters allowed

2pm to close -  scooter users only
