Postal voting
If you are registered to vote and cannot vote at your polling station, you can apply for a postal vote. You can do this directly online, which is the easiest and quickest way to submit an application.
Postal ballot packs will be sent to you before an election (usually eight working days before polling day). The ballot paper will be included with those cast at polling stations as long as we receive it before 10pm on polling day. Please bear the eight working days in mind, especially if you live overseas and want your ballot papers sent to you. You may want to appoint a proxy instead.
If you have a postal vote you won't be able to vote at the polling station, even if you do not use your postal vote.
