Proxy voting
If you are registered to vote but unable to attend your polling station, you can appoint someone else (a proxy) to vote on your behalf. You will still be able to vote in person if your proxy hasn't already voted for you. Some proxy applications can now be submitted directly online, which is the easiest and quickest way to do it.
If the type of proxy vote you wish to apply for is not currently available online, you will be directed to a paper form which you can download or print to complete.
You will need to provide your National Insurance number when applying to vote by proxy.
